How we teach

Lecture, practice, consolidation.

We do not teach in school periods, we teach the way a university does. Theory in the lecture hall, application in small groups. Anyone who works like that for a year knows how university works before arriving there.

Lessons are recorded and stay available until the end of the contract term. If you were ill, you catch up. If you did not follow the material the first time, you watch it a second and a third time. For many people that is exactly why it works this time.

Worth knowing: recognition, examination and choosing a model

What the Swiss Federal Matura certificate is worth

The Swiss Federal Matura examination has equal standing with the grammar school Matura. The certificate entitles you to study at every Swiss university and at the ETH. The certificate does not state where you prepared, it states that you passed the federal examination.

How the examination works

The examination is organised by the federal authorities and taken in two parts. We prepare you with the complete syllabus, past papers from previous years and mock examinations. The official guidelines and pass requirements are available under Downloads and documents.

Which model fits your life

The qualification is the same in every model, the calendar is not. Full-time in one year is the fastest route and requires five free days a week. Two years full-time gives more time per subject. Part-time suits you if you work during the day. Matura Flex suits you if you have time during the day but not five full days. Im Self-study you set the pace yourself. If you are unsure, the guide takes you to the right model in two questions, and all prices are set out openly on the fees page.

Frequently asked

What people ask us most often.

Is this realistic for me, even if my school years were a long time ago?
That is the question we are asked most often. The honest answer: how long ago it was tells you little on its own. What matters is whether the foundations hold and whether you can genuinely put in the time. We look at both before you apply, in the consultation and in the placement test. If we conclude that it does not add up, we tell you so openly. We have students in the programme who left secondary school ten years ago, and others whom we first advised to take the preparatory course.
Is the Swiss Federal Matura worth the same as the grammar school one?
The certificate entitles you to study at every Swiss university and at the ETH, just as the grammar school Matura does. The examination is administered by the Swiss Federal Maturity Commission, not by us. So the value of your qualification does not depend on the school, it depends on what you can do.
I have gaps in mathematics. Can I close them before the course starts or alongside it?
Yes, and that is the most common case. The placement test shows where the gaps are. Smaller gaps you close alongside the course, that is what the practice groups are for, and the practice hours are included in the timetable at no extra cost. If the gaps are larger, we recommend the mathematics preparatory course: one semester, CHF 2’000, after which you start at a level that holds.
What applies if I have to withdraw early? Is there a notice period or a penalty?
The conditions are set out in full in our terms, which you receive before applying and which we go through with you in the consultation. We deliberately do not bury this in the small print: ask about it in the consultation, it is one of those questions you settle beforehand and not afterwards.
