The programme

Six subjects, three core elements.

The IB Diploma Programme covers six subject groups and the three core elements: Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service. It is deliberately broader than a national school-leaving qualification and builds the ability to put knowledge in context and to work independently.

What is guaranteed

What we put in writing.

If you do not pass, you repeat free of charge.

Separate conditions apply to the IB, among them an attendance rate of 90%. We set out the details in our terms and go through them with you beforehand.

We put the details in writing before you sign.

The IB organisation sets and marks the exams

The International Baccalaureate Organization, not Academic Gateway. The diploma is recognised by universities worldwide. Swiss universities apply additional conditions depending on your subject choice.

Honest rather than estimated

We do not yet have our own pass rate for the IB, the programme is too young. So we do not quote one.

Experienced teachers

More than 20 highly qualified teachers, most of them with university teaching experience.

Two full mock examinations

Frequently asked

The IB, most common questions.

How many hours a week would I realistically need to study?
Full-time: the programme is a full-time commitment, with evenings and weekends on top. Part-time and self-study: expect 12 to 15 hours a week in addition to lessons. That is the honest figure, and it is why we ask in the consultation what your week actually looks like.
Do I get a concrete study plan and learning targets?
Yes. After the placement test and after each of the two mock examinations you receive a study plan for the exam period covering the topics you still need to work on. On top of that come regular progress reviews with a dedicated contact person.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, for all German-language programmes. Paying in instalments increases the total amount, because the financing is carried alongside, and a credit check applies. All options are set out openly on the fees page.
