We do not teach in school periods, we teach in lectures and practice sessions. Theory in the lecture hall, application in small groups, and the entire syllabus available digitally. Anyone who works this way knows how university works before arriving there.
The theory, paced to the examination
Compact and guided, in the lecture hall on Löwenstrasse. The syllabus follows the federal framework curriculum, not a cantonal one. Taught by teachers qualified to teach at upper secondary level.
Small groups, real work
This is where you calculate, write and ask. The practice hours are not an add-on, they are fixed in the timetable at no extra cost. Anyone who needs more time in a subject gets it here, not in the evening against an invoice.
The entire syllabus, digital
Recordings of every lecture, model answers, past papers and short explanatory videos. Anywhere, any time, available until the end of the contract term.
Why lecture and practice are kept apart
Many sit in the lecture hall, few in the practice session. That is not a compromise, it is the point of the model. Theory can be delivered efficiently to a large group. Understanding happens in the small group.
That is why the lecture hall seats more than 70 and the practice groups are small. Anyone used only to a classroom adjusts within a few weeks and is then not caught out at university.
What else is part of it
The building
14 rooms at Löwenstrasse 17, a seven-minute walk from the main station. A lecture hall seating more than 70, a laboratory for chemistry, biology and physics, a library, a music room, an art room and a terrace.
Every room is fitted with microphones and cameras so that lessons can be streamed live and recorded.

Anyone who attends at least 95% of lessons, completes all assessments and sits the examination with our recommendation from the feedback meeting may repeat the programme free of charge. This applies to the Matura programmes, not to the BMS, the Passerelle and the IB. All conditions are set out in the frequently asked questions.
The school does not administer the examination
For the Swiss federal qualifications it is the Swiss Matura Examination Board and SERI, for the IB Diploma the International Baccalaureate Organization. In no case Academic Gateway. The Matura entitles you to study at every Swiss university and at the ETH, the vocational baccalaureate gives admission without examination to every university of applied sciences. The IB Diploma is recognised internationally.

Of the students in the Matura programmes whom we admit and who see the route through, 90 to 95 per cent pass the examination.
